OMEOlipid by EPO is a combination of artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.), acchocchia/cilantro (Cyclanthera pedata (L.) Schrad.) and fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) with anticholesterol and bile-lowering effects.
Dyslipidemia and hypercholesterolemia are among the major causes of cardiovascular disease.
The beneficial effects of these extracts are described in a new study published in Frontiers in Pharmacology.
Nutraceutical preparations with these extracts, such as OMEOlipid, may be contributing to the maintenance of normal liver and gallbladder function and the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.
OMEOlipid combines the traditions of three different countries:
-
-Artichoke is a Mediterranean plant whose cultivation in Europe dates back to ancient Greece and Rome. Its active substances (caffeoylquinic acids, flavonoids, sesquiterpene lactones) are concentrated in the leaves, acting as digestive, biliary, hepatoprotective and depurative agents.
- Achuca is a traditional South American plant; the fruits contain flavonoids and its use in Peru is documented since 3700 BC as a hypotensive, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory and hypocholesterolemic agent.
- Fenugreek is a stalwart of Ayurvedic medicine, alleviating kapha and vata. The seeds contain saponins, coumarins, flavonoids and alkaloids. They have cholesterol lowering, diuretic, diaphoretic, carminative, hypoglycemic and demulcent properties and are traditionally used to treat obesity and diabetes.
With the perfect combination of the beneficial properties of these three plants, OMEOlipid can be used in dietary supplements for its anti-cholesterol and bile-lowering properties.
It has strong hepatoprotective, antioxidant and depurative effects and supports liver function.
It also promotes the production and flow of bile, which is essential for cholesterol excretion, and reduces the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines, thereby reducing its absorption.
OMEOlipid is hypoglycaemic and hypotensive and alleviates problems associated with renal impairment.
Omeolipid by EPO is distributed in the Czech and Slovak Republics and Hungary by Faravelli s.r.o..
