New scientific evidence further strengthens the profile of Bergavit™, the standardized natural bergamot extract developed by our partner Bionap.
A new randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study has been published in the Journal of Experimental Pharmacology to evaluate the effects of Bergavit™ on lipid parameters in an East Asian population. The study involved 108 adults and was conducted over a four-month period using a daily dose of standardized extract providing 150 mg of flavonoids, including neohesperidin, naringin and neoeriocitrin.
A new step forward in Bergavit™ research
The results showed a significant reduction in Total Cholesterol and LDL Cholesterol, with effects already observed from the second month of supplementation and maintained throughout the study. At the end of the four-month period, the study reported a 7.3% reduction in Total Cholesterol and a 7.0% reduction in LDL-C, with no clinically relevant changes in the safety parameters monitored.
A particularly relevant aspect of the study concerns the population involved. Previous clinical trials had been conducted in Caucasian subjects; this new study therefore extends the evaluation to an Asian population, showing results consistent with previous findings and further supporting the reproducibility of the observed effect across different population groups.
This publication therefore represents an additional scientific support for Bergavit™ and provides further points of interest for the development of nutraceutical formulations intended for international markets, including the APAC region.
Faravelli s.r.o. distributes Bergavit™ in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
